1. I have to get in shape to do yoga.
---Every "body" is different. Yoga helps you get in shape gradually and easily. Yoga meets you where you are.
2. I have to make my body into a pretzel! I can't get into those poses.
---Many yoga poses are very simple. As you slowly build strength and flexibility over time, you will be able to do more and more. The only thing that has to be flexible is your mind.
3. I can't keep up with other people in the class.
---You are not supposed to. Yoga is an "individual practice", not a sport or competition. There are many different levels of classes and styles of yoga. A good instructor will help you choose poses or variations of poses that you can perform.
4. I don't have time.
---We all make choices on how we will spend our time. Even a few minutes of yoga practice each day will bring many benefits to you, physically and mentally.
